Hyundai Motor Group plans to present its artificial intelligence–driven robotics strategy at CES 2026, marking a strategic shift toward advanced robotics following setbacks in autonomous driving. The showcase will feature Atlas, an all-electric humanoid robot developed by Boston Dynamics, which will be demonstrated publicly for the first time.

Atlas is positioned as a core element of Hyundai’s software-defined factory vision and is set to begin trial operations in 2026 at the company’s new electric vehicle plant in the United States, where it will perform basic logistics tasks. At CES, Hyundai will outline how it plans to integrate AI robots into manufacturing sites worldwide to boost flexibility and automation.

The company will also highlight progress at its smart factory in Singapore, where AI and robotics already automate much of the production process. Hyundai says its broader goal is to commercialize AI robotics and embed them into everyday industrial operations, reinforcing robotics as a key pillar of its future technology strategy.
